On May 28, 2020, the USAID Southern Africa Trade and Investment Hub facilitated an introductory meeting between Eswatini-based LnL Produce and @Source Africa. LnL Produce manages 1,500 hectares of land dedicated to the production of fresh produce. @Source Africa, a Centurion, South Africa-based firm, is an interesting prospective buyer for LnL Produce given the former’s a contract with the Gauteng Department of Education to provide food for the province’s school feeding program. Should this contract be renewed, @Source Africa has expressed interest in sourcing food products from the Eswatini-based firm. In the interim, LnL Produce can supply bananas to @Source Africa to fulfill its existing supply contract with the Department of Education. The details of this potential deal are being developed and negotiated with support from the USAID TradeHub.
