Several African countries such as Lesotho are emerging as noteworthy sources of apparel for the US market. In his comments, Minister Setipa highlighted Lesotho’s potential: 11 woven and 28 knit garment factories employ approximately 26,000 workers. There are no knit fabric producers in Lesotho at present, but Minister Setipa said the country is in talks with two firms to set up production.
