Change Management TrainingBuilding on the Project Management training given to the National Single Window (NSW) project team in Namibia in November 2014, the Southern Africa Trade Hub hosted a Change Management training seminar for senior managers from government and parastatal organisations, from April 28-30 in Swakopmund, Namibia. The seminar provided future members of the Single Window Technical Committee with a common understanding of effective change management strategy and how it will help to ensure smooth implementation of the Single Window program in Namibia.

The three-day seminar provided participants with a thorough overview of the NSW concept, a detailed study of Change Management principles, and how those principles should be applied to enact the significant institutional and procedural changes required for NSW implementation. Comparisons were drawn against existing successful Single Window implementations, highlighting similarities in context and organizational structure.

The seminar was attended by Directors, Deputy Directors and Deputy Commissioners from ten stakeholder ministries, agencies, and parastatal organizations, and was highly praised by all with open, lively discussions throughout the sessions.

The Trade Hub’s ongoing support to the Namibia NSW program will continue in May when the Senior Legal Advisor for NSW will visit Namibia to undertake further analysis of the program's legal framework with the Ministry of Justice and other stakeholders.
