USAID’s Southern Africa Trade Hub supported the Namibian Standards Institution (NSI) to host a one-day workshop on the Trade Metrology Act focusing on Road Safety and the Traffic Industry, on February 15, 2016 in Windhoek.
The workshop discussed the role of NSI in road safety and requirements under the Trade Metrology Act. The Trade Metrology Act explains legal requirements for measurements, units of measurements, measuring instruments and methods of measurements. These activities are performed by the NSI on behalf of government to ensure an appropriate level of credibility in measurement results in the national regulatory environment.
