Building on an earlier effort to engage South African business membership organizations in its trade and investment work, the USAID TradeHub is seeking expressions of interest from six such organizations to help identify South African buyers for a range of regional products. The target products include groundnuts; non-GMO soya beans; processed, non-GMO soya products; maize and soya cereal blends; macadamia nuts; and cashew nuts. Participating business membership organizations include the Milk Producers Organization, Animal Feed Manufacturers Association, Agri South Africa, AgBiz, South African Cereal and Oil Traders Association, and the Groundnut Forum. A broader call for expressions of interest was also published in South Africa’s Mail & Guardian newspaper on March 27, 2020. Linking South African buyers with regional exporters is a core objective of the Hub, which seeks to expand the market for these exporters’ products in South Africa.
