On March 27, 2020, the USAID TradeHub advertised a Request for Proposals in the South African weekly newspaper, the Mail & Guardian, to identify an innovative and experienced digital learning developer. The service provider will be contracted to develop a learning solution to reach small and medium export firms across the Hub’s seven priority countries. The learning solution will empower export firms to make informed decisions related to raising investment or accessing short-term working capital. Once developed and tested, the learning tool will be widely disseminated through different Hub partners in the region. This initiative comes as the Hub ramps up its response to ongoing travel restrictions brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. Beyond temporary stop-gap measures, the Hub seeks to institutionalize its online activities during this time, creating a knowledge base that can support trade and investment in the region well after the current crisis ends.
