Due to concerns over spread of the COVID-19 virus, the USAID TradeHub has postponed a workshop, originally planned for March 31, 2020, for key stakeholders of Zambia’s laboratory industry. The workshop was set to validate the findings of a gap analysis and needs assessment of the country’s sanitary and phytosanitary testing capability. As part of the report, the USAID TradeHub assessed seven Lusaka-based private and public laboratories. Twenty-five representatives from local laboratories were expected to attend the March 31 event. Invitees are aware of the situation, and the USAID TradeHub is currently exploring options for rescheduling the workshop in the next quarter.
