The USAID Southern Africa Trade and Investment Hub participated in the inaugural Apparel Sourcing USA Virtual Trade Show from July 21-24, 2020. The virtual show featured textiles and home decor, with more than 20,000 product listings by 450 exhibitors from 15 countries. Complimentary, interactive sessions covered the most pressing topics affecting the textile and apparel industry in the United States today. The virtual trade show provided the USAID TradeHub with an opportunity to represent nine export-ready partners from Lesotho, Eswatini, and Botswana. This trade event is in line with the USAID TradeHub objective of promoting exports from the region to the U.S. market under the African Growth and Opportunity Act. The exposure could also attract investments that drive commercial expansion to global markets. A USAID TradeHub representative delivered a brief presentation to attract potential U.S. buyers as well as engaged with 11 potential U.S. buyers at the show.
