On September 2, 2020, the USAID Southern Africa Trade and Investment Hub, through a U.S.-based apparel trade linkages specialist, introduced Lesotho-based TZICC Clothing Manufacturers and Super Knitting to Mark Floum, vice president of Shanghai Shenda America. The latter expressed interest in learning more about TZICC’s and Super Knitting’s private label technical specifications and production capabilities, including through a virtual tour of the two factories. This market linkage is part of the USAID TradeHub’s efforts to boost Southern African exports to the United States through the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA). The USAID TradeHub facilitated the connection by pitching the potential suppliers to Shanghai Shenda America and assisting them to develop presentations on their operations.
